Friday Freebie: Titles I Love
The Title is Part of the Art
Today, you get your first Friday freebie; a less-substantial piece than I normally deliver, just for fun because it’s Friday…
I’ve often found that, similar to a beautiful cover, I judge a book based on its title. I felt that it was a bad habit, knowing that one should not judge a book by such inconsequential features. However, I’ve recently accepted that just as a novel, song, or movie is a work of art, so is its title. That’s simply a part of it. Otherwise we might simply call it Spielberg movie #6. Therefore, I wanted to create a list of titles I’ve found to be uncommonly beautiful. What do I like about these titles? Essentially, I love how they sound. They roll off the tongue. They are 5-word symphonies, give or take.
I’ve placed them in no particular order. I couldn’t even be bothered to separate them by category. Also, this is not necessarily an endorsement of the works listed. Some of them I haven’t even read/seen, but the title alone is beauty to me.
Without further ado…
